i'm reading anne's book first.
isn't it amazing that i'm nearing my late 20s and i haven't read any of these books? it's kind of sad. well, i've got to get busy ...

That is a nice list. “The Souls of Black Folk” is one of my favorite books. We are still facing many of the problems that he wrote about back then.

I loved “Coming of Age in Mississippi”. It gives a face to the foot soldiers of the Civil Rights Movement. It paints a picture of the hard decisions and the struggles that they went through.
