i've come to the realization that i am not a good judge of character. and while most people are stupid, most people who i thought were smart (or at least halfway decent) are also stupid.

    Thank you for that. I don't however think its a character judgement, you probably just want to give people the benefit of the doubt. I do the same thing and oftentimes they prove me wrong.
