i think it is important to have an attitude of gratitude. for me, i base my foundation on the bible - psalm 71:8. but i don't think you necessarily have to be a christian to be thankful. you can be thankful to a co-worker for helping you with a project, or a family member for listening to you during a time of need, or a perfect stranger for holding the door open for you. just by being thankful, your whole world can change. when we stop being thankful, what will come next? will we stop being kind? we will stop having compassion? i certainly hope none of this comes to pass. so, on with my 30 days of thanks ...

1. fun work meetings where everyone laughs
2. new life (congratulations to my high school friend who had a baby today!)
3. for the opportunity to be thankful and express that in the free country in which i live
