I try not to get too political on my blog, but when I read this abcnews.com quote of the day, i just got a little disgusted.
"we have fought the terrorists across the earth, not for pride, not for power, but because the lives of our citizens are at stake." — president bush, defending his foreign policy in his speech before the republican national convention.
...um, mr. bush, those soldiers who are dying everyday are citizens, aren't they? and what are they dying for mr. bush? some extra cash in you and your daddy's pocket. it sickens me. as an american citizen, i feel no safer that our soldiers are over there being multilated and dying everyday. i still get a little apprehensive at the airport. i just don't get the connection between safety and the "war" in iraq — probably because there isn't one.
